Since September 2016, the Gyzi Megaron Museum has begun a series of events (exhibitions – lectures – seminars) that harmonize and interact with its collections and exhibits, giving the opportunity to either young or respected creators, scientists or researchers to present their artistic or scientific work.

Events realized:

• Exhibition of the work of the painter and printer Iris Xilas-Xanalatos «From Kampos of Syros to Santorini» (September – October 2016)

• Photo exhibition of Anthi Mara and Panagiotis Markolefas  «Photographic Pairs» (September – October 2016)

At this time, the Gyzi Megaron Museum is planning a seminar on Greek Palaeography which will be attended by those wishing to become acquainted with the writing and reading of old Greek manuscripts, thus bringing in direct contact with the written sources of our history and culture. The historical material to be taken during the seminar is written in Greek and relates to the history of Santorini during the Ottoman domination. Many of these have not yet been studied.
