A distinguished musical partnership will take centre stage on 6 August 2026, when internationally acclaimed violinist Dmytro Tkachenko joins forces with leading Greek pianist, composer and educator Georgios–Emmanuel Lazaridis.
Two outstanding musicians with remarkable international careers and a longstanding commitment to performance, education and artistic excellence come together for a recital of exceptional musical quality, promising virtuosity, profound artistic expression and refined interpretation.
Dmytro Tkachenko, whose international career spans Europe, Asia and the Americas, and Georgios–Emmanuel Lazaridis, one of Greece’s most distinguished musicians with an established international reputation, present a programme celebrating the richness and timeless appeal of the violin and piano repertoire.
Their collaboration represents a significant artistic event, offering audiences a unique musical experience distinguished by technical brilliance, expressive depth and an inspiring artistic dialogue.
Dmytro Tkachenko
Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Tkachenko began studying both violin and piano before the age of six. He received his early musical education at the Lysenko Music School in Kyiv and later graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine. He subsequently continued his studies at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he was awarded the title of Fellow in 2002.
He is a prizewinner of several major international violin competitions, including the Carl Nielsen, Lysenko and WronskiCompetitions, and has developed an extensive international career with performances throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas.
As a soloist, he has appeared in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall and Cadogan Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, Tokyo Opera City, and the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis).
He has collaborated with distinguished orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Athens State Orchestra, the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile, among many others, while maintaining an active international schedule of concert tours and recitals.
His repertoire ranges from the Baroque period to contemporary music and includes virtually all the major violin concertos, as well as complete cycles of works by Paganini, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.
Alongside his performing career, he serves on the faculty of the National Music Academy of Ukraine, regularly gives masterclasses around the world, sits on the juries of international violin competitions, and is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Benjamin Britten International Music Competitions in London.
Georgios–Emmanuel Lazaridis
Georgios–Emmanuel Lazaridis is internationally recognised as an acclaimed pianist, composer and educator, enjoying more than thirty-five years of continuous presence on the international music scene. His performances have been described by the BBC as “beyond comparison”, while his compositions have been commissioned by leading Greek and international institutions. Alongside his artistic career, his educational and administrative work has made a lasting contribution to the development of Greece’s contemporary musical landscape.
A student of Domna Evnouhidou, Yonty Solomon and Alfred Brendel, he has given hundreds of performances at major international festivals and prestigious concert venues worldwide, collaborating with renowned orchestras and conductors. His recordings are widely regarded among the finest interpretations in the international discography.
He has presented masterclasses at music academies and universities throughout Europe and the United States and is co-founder of important educational initiatives. His compositions include works for symphony orchestra, piano, choir, song cycles and theatre.
He has served as Artistic Director of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis Thessalonikis), the Dimitria Festival, and the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, and currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia.
