Trio Manesis – Gyftakis – Gouliaris
The three great Greek musicians, already with rich activity in Greece and abroad, met in 2012 and from the first moment create an intense chemistry, which is obvious in their live performances in Athens and in Greek festivals.
Nowadays the trio is one of the most important Greek jazz piano trio. It is a modern trio with many influences from the great of its kind and clear references to the tradition of jazz playing. Constant interplay along with the high level of musical skills and improvisations, result in elements of surprise, diversity in creation of musical images and imagination in narrative.
Their repertoire includes the trio’s original compositions and jazz standards, used as a starting point to lead to different music venues.
In 2015 the Trio Manesis / Gyftakis / Gouliaris was awarded the First Prize at the 1st Greek jazz competition, the Apollon Jazz Competition Greece.
