MUSIC AND PANTOMIME FOR SAXOPHONE, VOICE, VIOLIN AND PIANO
How delightful it is to hear music and see a play? How more so when those are combined, as in this concert’s final work, where music unites with pantomime! The saxophone, the violin, and the piano recount a sad but wonderful story with a happy ending. It is the story of a clown on stage narrated through music ranging from melancholy to happiness, emphasizing the value of man’s compassion for his fellow man.
The other works in the program trigger other images in the audience’s minds, as prompted by prankster Scaramouche’s well-known melodies (composed by Darius Milhaud), the Smoke from a Blue Frame atmosphere of George Gershwin and Errikos Vaios, a voyage around the Aegean through Maurice Ravel’s Five Greek Songs along with his famous Habanera, another nostalgic trip with the Italian favorite Con te partiro and Paganini’s virtuosic violin caprices, Christos Papageorgiou’s Fantasy from “Onassis-Callas” musical, along many other captivating audiovisual surprises that will charm the audience.
