Lefteris Koronios «Images of my life»

The retrospective painting exhibition of Lefteris Koronios, entitled «Images of my life”, will be opened at the Cultural Centre Megaro Gyzi on Wednesday August 27th, 2014.

The Santorinian self-taught painter belongs to the category of naif folk artists, having a very interesting and personal expressive idiom and technique in his works. He is a restless mind who paints for many decades from an inner sensitivity for all issues related with his life, since he felt the need to change to a picture all his experiences. Guided by his instinct, he selected harmonious color schemes with bright bold colors giving us mainly subjects such as island scenes, fishing boats, sailors and port officers from his island, Santorini.

The presentation of a group of paintings by Lefteris Koronios gives an opportunity to the person who will see them to gain a complete picture of his expressive idiom and his creation, ultimately for his contribution in art.

The curator of the exhibition is Yannis Papaconstantinou, Artistic Director of Megaro Gyzi.
