SUMMARY:  Iris Xilas Xanalatos
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition of the work of the painter and printer \nIris Xilas Xanalatos \n  \nFrom Kampos of Syros to Santorini \n  \nThe Megaron Gyzi Museum. Fira\, Santorini \nOpening: Saturday 3rd September 2016\, at 20:00 \nDuration of exhibition: September – October 2016 \nOpening hours: daily 10:00 – 21:00 \nIris Xilas Xanalatos says of the exhibition: \n“The north side of Syros has been a great source of inspiration for me recently. This is where the plain is\, close to the sea\, ideally placed and peaceful. The area is dry\, with countless herbs and innumerable scents. Nature is full of surprises and the few local producers exploit its treasures with love. \nIt was all this and more — this unique corner of the Cyclades\, so much the essence of Greece — that I tried to capture and share through my work. To show how much life there is in this microcosm and the experiences\, both powerful and gentle\, that it allows one to have. \nThis particular exhibition in Santorini is something special: about half the works are small in size (10 x 10cm)\, they have been jury selected and have travelled to Japan\, Germany\, Spain\, Serbia\, Egypt and elsewhere. This is the first time I have exhibited this work in Greece.”
