DESCRIPTION:A demanding yet delightful program for two flutes\, cello\, and piano featuring the principal flutist of the Greek National Opera\, Zacharias Tarpagkos\, one of the most recognized and pioneering flutists of her generation\, Ana Chifu\, the cellist of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra\, Christos Grimpas\, and Valeria Charitidou on piano. In the concert\, they will present works by Debussy\, Gluck\, Delibes\, Doppler\, Shocker\, Cimarosa\, Kuhlau\, Bach and Haydn. \n  \n  \nA few details about the artists \n  \nZACHARIAS TARPAGOS \nZacharias’ activity includes performances as a soloist in concert halls worldwide\, such as the Boston Symphony Hall\, Tokyo Opera\, Queen Elizabeth Hall\, Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls\, and the Stavros Niarchos Hall. He currently performs as a regular member of the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki. \n  \nVALERIA CHARITIDOU \nValeria Haritidou was born in Tbilisi\, Georgia. At the age of five\, she began her musical studies in piano with Inessa Tschovrebashvili at the Experimental Music School in Tbilisi\, graduating in 2003. She continued her studies at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki under Victoria Vitoratou\, graduating with honors in June 2007 and receiving the 2nd Prize overall. Additionally\, she attended masterclasses with Nana Dimitriadis\, Dora Bakopoulou\, Bernard Ringaissen\, Anna Kulikova\, and George-Emmanuel Lazaridis. Following auditions\, she collaborated with the Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra and has performed solo recitals in Georgia\, Greece\, Cyprus\, and Italy. She has also participated in numerous chamber music concerts in collaboration with Greek and international artists such as Rudolf Koelman\, Bohuslav Matusek\, Nikos Mezilis\, and others. In September 2011\, she took part in the inaugural ceremony of the International Dimitria Festival as part of the “Music Circus – Open Air” events\, and in April 2013\, she recorded chamber music works for the Greek National Radio’s 3rd Program. \nValeria served as an official accompanist at the Summer Academy of Athos (2008)\, the seminars of the Cyprus Youth Orchestra (2009)\, and the Summer Academy of Old and Traditional Music in Arnaia (2012). From 2008 to 2011\, she worked at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki as a teacher and accompanist. Since 2011\, she has been the accompanist for the Choir of the Anatolia College Alumni Association. She has appeared as a soloist with the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki during the celebrations for European Music Day\, with the Thessaloniki Municipal Orchestra\, and with the Orquestra Sinfonica Cuidad de Elche.

DESCRIPTION:The exceptional Spanish trumpetist\, professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia\, Dr. Vicente Campos\, and the internationally award-winning pianist\, professor at the Conservatorio Superior del Liceo de Barcelona\, Michael Davidov Butusov\, will perform a program featuring works by Haydn\, Albinoni\, and others. \n  \n  \nA few details about the artists \n  \nVICENTE CAMPOS \nVicente Campos took his first studies at the Musical School of Montserrat (Valencia). Later on he continued them at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia\, being Vicente Prats his teacher. He has been awarded with the Extraordinary Honourable Prize in his final Superior Degree of the trumpet specialty; he has won the first Prize of the Young Musicians and the first Prize ‘Mariano Puig’. He has done a Master in Aesthetics and Musical Creativity by the University of Valencia\, General Study. He has recently achieved the Advanced Studies Diploma and at the moment he is doing his doctoral thesis at the University of Valencia\, General Study. \nHe has performed as a principal trumpet in the main orchestras and groups of the Spanish musical scene. He has released several records and Cd’s as a soloist\, standing out his recording of the Concerti Accademici by Francisco José de Castro and the Collegium Instrumentale\, with an excellent review of the Goldberg Magazine. Since 1996 he manages the musical courses and the Montserrat Festival Chamber Music (Valencia). \nNowadays he is the soloist of the Grup Instrumental in which he has been priced with National Prize of Music 2005 in the interpretation specialty. Moreover\, he is the soloist of the Valencia Symphonic Orchestra and the Brass Ensemble ‘Valencia Brass Quintet’. He usually collaborates with the Collegium Instrumentale and he is also trumpet professor and headmaster of the Superior Music Conservatory of Castellón. \n  \nMICHAEL DAVIDOV BUTUSOV \nMichael Davidov entered the Barcelona Conservatory (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) in the class of the world’s renowned Catalan pianist Prof. Ramon Coll being just 16 years old. He finished his studies obtaining a total amount of nine honors and was given the University Director’s personal recommendation. His constant will of refining his knowledge and his artistic development\, pulled him to study at European most prestigious music centers with world famous professors such as the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Postgraduate) under Prof. Mikhail Petukhov\, the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar\, Germany\, under Prof. Grigory Gruzman (Concert Diploma) and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg\, Austria (Master degree and Postgraduate) under Prof. Pavel Gililov. Michael Davidov performed as soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia\, the Symphony Orchestra of Rostov\, Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Granada\, the Orquestra J. Strauss of Roma\, under the conductors Enrique García Asensio\, Paul Mann\, Salvador Mas\, Valery Khlebnikov\, Dariusz Mikulski\, Rastislav Stur\, Nicola Samale\, to name a few. Davidov is also a prizewinner of many international piano competitions such as the International Piano Competition Delia Steinberg in Madrid (1st Prize)\, the International Piano Competition A. Skavronsky–Inspiration in Volgodonsk (1st Prize and Audience Prize)\, the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale G. Pecar in Gorizia (1st Prize)\, the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale F. Chopin in Roma (2nd Prize) and many others. His wide artistic activity made him win other prizes and scholarships. He won four consecutive times the Catalonian’s State Council Scholarship for the Culture and the Arts (2008-12)\, the Prize of the Foundation R. Parramon (2009)\, a Medal given by the Town hall of Palau Solità i Plegamans (Barcelona\, 2011) and two scholarships given by the Association of Interpreters and Performers of Spain (2013 and 2014).\nBesides his concert career\, Davidov is also a pedagogue and a composer. In 2010\, Michael Davidov became Germany’s youngest piano dozent\, after winning an Associate Professor position at the Hochschule für Musik F. Liszt in Weimar. In 2013 he has founded the Marbella International Music Festivaland became its Artistic Director. The MIMF organizes yearly the Marbella International Music Competition and a Piano Masterclass Series with world top piano professors. Michael Davidov has been invited as a juror at international piano competitions and has headed piano masterclasses in different countries. Nowadays\, he is professor for piano at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona.

DESCRIPTION:Opera Night titled “Giacomo Puccini and His Era” featuring two permanent collaborators of the Greek National Opera. The distinguished soprano\, a graduate of the renowned Music Academy of Munich\, Anna Stylianaki\, and the tenor\, a graduate of Trinity College of Music in London\, Philip Modinos. Accompanying on the piano is the exceptional Dimitris Yiakas. \n  \n   \nA few details about the artists \n  \nANNA STYLIANAKI \nGreek soprano\, she studied voice and opera at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory (diploma\, under Katerina Karatza). She continued postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts\, Munich\, under Daphne Evangelatos and completed her Lied studies under Helmut Deutsch. She received scholarships from Maria Callas Association and Richard Wagner Verband International (Munich). She has performed Veronica (Le docteur Miracle)\, Mimì (La bohème)\, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte)\, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro)\, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni for GNO’s “Suitcase Opera”)\, Jessie (The Little Mahagonny)\, Vivika (The godson)\, Micaëla (Carmen)\, Arminda (La finta giardiniera)\, Sara (Carrer’s Fior di Maria)\, Anthoula (Perouze)\, and the title role in Samaras’ Mademoiselle de Belle-Ιsle (Athens Concert Hall). She participated at the first presentation of the works of Sinem Altan\, Amos Elkana\, Giorgos Koumendakis in Munich (“Odyssey”\, 2013)\, as well as at the world premiere of Dimitris Papademetriou’s Satyricon (Onassis Cultural Centre\, 2014). She received honorary mention at the Grand Prix Maria Callas (2014) and 3rd Award at the Marie Kraya International Singing Competition (2015). \n   \nPHILIP MODINOS \nHe was born in Bremen. He first studied classical singing with his parents\, John Modinos and Jenny Drivala\, with whom he began performing at a young age. He studied singing\, piano and conducting at Trinity College London. As a pianist he collaborated with Liszt Society and Alkan Society and performed in London’s concert halls. He participated in the sound recording of the children’s musical Pol and Lara by Dimitris Katis. He was artistic director of the Casa dei Mezzo Festival in Crete (2008). Along with soprano Kassandra Dimopoulou\, he founded the company Skull of Yorick Productions. While studying he performed in numerous productions\, including the world premiere of Cry of Innocence. The first role he interpreted was Prince Yamadori at Madama Butterfly by Puccini. His recent performance as Siegfried was received with high critical acclaim (Fulham Opera\, London). From 2006 onwards he has sang\, among others\, roles such as Radamès [Aida] (Como\, Italy)\, Canio [Pagliacci]\, Gabriele Adorno [Simon Boccanegra] (Valladolid\, Spain)\, Othello [Otello] (Saint Peter\, London)\, Don José [Carmen]\, Idomeneo [Idomeneo\, King of Crete /Idomeneo\, re di Creta] in Greece\, England\, Italy\, Spain\, France\, Germany\, Cyprus\, Egypt and the USA (Barbican Centre in London\, Greek National Opera\, Opera of Alexandria\, etc). He has also interpreted soloist parts in the following works: Stabat Mater by Dvorzak\, Mass of Glory [Messa di Gloria] by Puccini and Requiem by Verdi. He collaborated with the Greek National Opera twice. He sang the roles of Turiddu [Cavalleria rusticana] (2012-13) and Macduff [Macbeth] (2013-14\, Athens Concert Hall). \n  \nDIMITRIS YAKAS \nDimitris Yiakas was born in Athens. He received his Piano Diploma from the National Conservatory (class of Myrto Mavrikou). He continued his musical studies at the École Normale de Musique in Paris\, specializing in Piano\, Chamber Music\, and Opera Music Preparation\, and later studied Song Accompaniment with Dalton Baldwin. From 1982 to 1991\, he worked as a pianist and music coach at the Paris Opera and subsequently at the Lyon Opera\, invited by the Art Director Kent Nagano. Concurrently\, he performed as a piano accompanist for singers in Paris and at numerous cities and festivals throughout France. Since 1990\, he has been based in Athens\, where he began his regular collaboration with the Greek National Opera and the Athens Concert Hall. He frequently accompanies Greek and international singers in concerts both in Greece and abroad.

As soloist he played\, abroad\, in California\, Arizona\, Louisiana\, Cina\, Bulgaria\, and in Italy in Sanremo\, Portofino\, Roma\, Frosinone\, Rieti\, Pescara\, Teramo\, Chieti\, Bari\, Messina\, Reggio Calabria. As principal cellist he played with many orchestras\, like Carlo Felice di Genova\, Orchestra Filarmonica Della Calabria\, Vittorio Emanuele Orchestra in Messina\, Cilea in Reggio Calabria and he cooperated with Berliner Symphoniker and Petruzzelli Orchestra in Bari. He worked with such celebrated artists\, as V.Repin\, R.Muti\, R.Vlad\, D.Renzetti\, R.Filippini\, I.Pogorelich\, A.Carbonare\, I.Abdrazakov\, Y.Grubert\, D.Conti\, and\, in chamber music\, with B.Canino\, A.Allegrini\, F.Meloni. His most recent recordings were made for Bongiovanni\, Rai Trade\, Medusa Film\, Mediaset\, Fabbri Editori. He collaborated with world renowned jazz players\, as Galliano\, Di Battista\, Bosso\, Mirabassi\, Rea. He studied cello with Sandro Laffranchini\, E.Bronzi\, F.Pepicelli\, L.Piovano e M.Polidori\, and chamber music with A.Spiri\, M.Zuccarini e Quartetto di Cremona.\nHe is Artistic Director of Festival di Maggio in Campania (Italy) \n  \nPAOLO SCAFARELLA\nPaolo Scafarella was born in 1993 in Puglia (Apulia). He completed his courses at the Conservatory “N. Piccinni” in Bari with highest honors. Scafarella has attained first place in many piano competitions and is regularly invited in important concert seasons in Italy and abroad. Scafarella has undertaken many concert tour\, festivals and events in great halls\, such as the Theater Impero in Trani\, Principal Theater in Corato\, Theater Auditorium in Pordenone\, Eutherpe Hall in Leon\, Auditorium “N.Rota” in Bari and Sala degli Affreschi in the University of Bari. He is also busy working as a concert transcriber for Momenti Edizioni and at the moment he as a collaboration with Zecchini Editore for the release of a monographic book on composers of the Romantic and post-Romantic periods. He is currently part of the artists of the classical music agency “Reggio Iniziative Culturali”\, playing both as a solo pianist and in chamber music ensembles.
